The last inch of the barrel has been cut off. The rest of rifle is an assortment of cast-off parts, some that were badly corroded. ...

Cases normally bulge a ...

Wait till you start shooting it! They can be real tack drivers. Additionally, the Type 38 is probably the strongest and safest bolt action rifle ever made.

I almost always back FL sizing dies out for surplus rifles. Normally the headspace is a little generous in the rifle, and the die brings the case right down to minimum. Set the die so the shoulder is ...

I use 160gr 0.268 bullets in a 6-groove Type-38 with good results. I use IMR-4831 and get good, usable accuracy and adequate power for hunting.

What were these mines used for?
Anti-personnel, vehicles or anything that set it off?

To those doubters, please refer to the "Blevins Banzi Blowup Tests".
They certainly impressed me!

I believe they used carbon steel. The strength came from the selective heat treatment, which had been refined almost to an art. The load-bearing areas had a hard surface, backed up by an extremely tou ...

Second, do you full-length resize all the ...

Get some castor oil at any drug store. It's the best sizing lubricant I have ever used, and you probably won't have sticking cases if you use it.

Alternately, I use a .30-06 Lee collet die for 7.7 ...

Try cutting a nail about 1/8 in higher that the front sight, filing the side of it flat, then attaching it to the rear of the front sight blade with crazy glue. It actually works pretty well. You take ...

If you don't mind somewhat of a "kluge" that's completely reversable. I've use "Krazy Glue" to fasten small sections of metal (filed from nails etc.) onto the front sight to lower ...
