The rifle would be worth more as parts than as a complete rifle. You have some good parts, rod, aa sights , dust cover. But since they are not original [ miss-matched] to your rifle, they are just parts. Also it is not a long rifle, it is a short rifle. Nagoya did make a T-99 long rifle, but it is different. You are missing the mono-pod and the sight ears have been cut off, and your stock is ruined [ cut] . So parts value is the total worth: aa-sight= $ 40.00, rod= $ 50.00, dust cover= $ 60.00, bolt parts= $60.00, hardware= $ 40.00. That will give you an estimate of the total worth. Now I am not saying you should part it out, just that is how to figure a real value. mag

MAG, thanks. it seems as though i spent a lot of money for nothing. i just bought the rod, dust cover, mag follower with spring in an effort to complete the rifle, although i'm keeping it, i had hoped to hear a larger number. anyway, at least the parts are worth something, not quite what i paid, but since it's a keeper, i can wait until it appreciates. i bought another t-99 and am waiting for it now, it's supposed to be matching as well. i'll let all know when it arrives and send pics.
i DO really appreciate the help i've recieved so far and look forward to contributing in the future. thanks, randy

p.s. why don't the pics show-up?

Not sure if the 'link' is correct. I can't get to the pics by cutting and pasting so the link may not be correct. You have to embed the url/img tags at the front and back.

[ url ]http://www.castle-thunder.com/pics/casc920/casc639F.jpg[ /url ]

use the same syntax as above, just remove the spaces from inside the brackets and insert the path to your file. Make sure your upper/lower case names and extensions match the file name and extensions. Thanks for posting. Trey

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon!

Well it is not for nothing if you like the end result. If it makes you happy that is all that counts. It will still look right from a foot away. mag

I have a third series 99, that I saw a few years ago, something struck me funny about it. After looking at it all weekend at the show, I realized it was on the wrong stock (type 'B' w/irregular fullers), had the wrong barrel (non-chrome), and wrong front sight (no ears, type 'C'), matching front band . There is a patch in the stock at the cleaning rod catch, apparently converting it from a long rod catch, to a short rod catch. All early features other than the above mentioned. It is matching to the serial number. An odd ball to say the least. There is no evidence that the barrel was replaced or the ears ground. I like it, as an oddity. Trey
