Japbayoman sent this out,
Quote:
..."The badge on the front is a watch fob with the loop cut off the top, and mounted to the band on the scabbard. The loop on the back of the scabbard makes this bayonet hang backwards then normal. My question is, award, or G.I. souvenir??...

Due to the excessive wear on the fob, and not on the rest of the rig, and no provision to carry it, I'd guess G.I. Souvenir. Anyone else?

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon!

Its one of those things I'd see at a show, write off as trench art, and decide that I most definitely had to have.....Its very nicely done. Trey

I have a bayonet very much like the one shown, sans scabbard. The point is sharp but, the blade is not. The curve on the front is very much like that of an original bayonet
What is the length of your blade?
What so the symbols on the fob say?
Can you see or feel any seam on the scabbard where it was shortened?

Thanx, Chuck.
