Here are some close ups I took with my new toy.
A 32nd series mark

The marks on a Type 38 dust cover

The Arsenal Mark and series mark on the Type 97 Sniper receiver.

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon!

What is between the series indicator of ㋑ and the first of the serial number in the lower photo? Perhaps a miss-located 名 final inspection stamp?

Great close ups.

Frank

Trey, Are you using a ring light on the end of your lens? Thats always been my problem of taking super micro up close...you disrupt your light source.
Nice photos!

Yes, I guess. My camera takes great macros if I have enough light, for the angle (ha, no pun intended). I bought a very low end digital 'microscope' to experiment with. It has an led with a ring to spread it evenly built in. The base for the model I got, is rather nifty in allowing me to position the lens assembly almost any angle I need for a small area. I want to set up my photo corner, and see how it does with better lighting over a larger area.
