Dubbed the Yamaki Pine, The 390-Year-Old Tree That Survived the Bombing of Hiroshima now living in Washington, D.C., this bonsai tree survived the atomic blast and was gifted to the US as part of its Bicentennial Celebration.

On August 6, 1945, at a quarter-past 8 a.m., bonsai master Masaru Yamaki was inside his home when glass fragments hurtled past him....
