Looking for a Izawa Type training rifle; the one with the Type 99 long rifle style front band and stock, for a 02/45 restoration project. Clunker grade is fine.

Does the one you are looking for have one or two screws in the front band?

I thought those used the Nippon Special Steel type trainer configuration.

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon!

My understanding is that these rifles were built using Izawa training rifle parts and Type 35 actions. They used a one screw style front band which I did find! I used a Type 38 front end to build the fore part of the stock, and with some woodworking, was able to make a pretty decent replica of the Type 02/45 stock using my own rifle as a template.
