For the "mini bombs," two different artillery shell fuses were "screwed" together, end-to-end with the "striker' of one "+ ed" and fins fitted into the "+" to make it look like a small bomb. Has anyone read anything about these and if you have one or more, can you post a pic? Trey, remember to take photos the next time you are here.

I've occasionally run across "letter openers' at guns-shows with the handle made from a Japanese rifle cartridge and the blade scalloped on the bottom edge and "New Guinea" or "New Guinea, 1943" stamped on the blade. There is a paragraph in one of the books on the New Guinea campaign that mentions G. I.s making these using hammered out artillery shell caress for the blade. This was the subject in an old Banzai.

Yes, I them quite a bit on ebay. I'll be sure to bring the camera. Even if there was an article in the old BANZAI, it is worth redoing in the new BANZAI due to the picture quality.

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon!
