Pretty neat conversion. My knowledge pertains to rifles only, as far as I know Japanese conversions were generally marked with kanji as being special calibers, with the caliber listed. Type 38s converted for 7.7 and such. This I would expect would be done over here, sort of copying the red 9 of the German's used. It is a very neat conversion. The Olde One had a long barreled .380 conversion, beautiful job, I think Alsaka ended up with it. I have what I think is an indonesian conversion (courtesy of the Olde One as well) with what looks more like a p38 barrel threaded and fitted. I'll try and dig up some pictures. Let's see what Type14 has to say. Thanks for posting. Trey

Are there any extra letters stamped underneath the barrel, Don V. has made up some stuff in the past, and usually marks them with his initials, and a year date I think.

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon!

Have you shot it? Most of the U.S. conversions will not function correctly, cartridges "stovepipe." A foreign conversion should work faultlessly with 9mm.
