Compliments of 'dear old ratboy'...Here is a well used Type 30 long rifle, exhibiting signs of heavy use, Is it Japanese or a Chinese copy? Oh boy, would this one have a story to tell! Thanks 'dear old Ratboy!'

It shows the tin/copper patches across cracks, the typical hole(s) in the forend wood.

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon!

Not Japanese, that's for sure. Kanji on receiver is very poor imitation of that stamped on a real Japanese Type 30 rifle. Serial number and rear sight graduations font is also poor rendition.

We ran across one Chinese copy that had Shiki three eight (Type 38 ) and a [b]FIFTEEN PETAL b] Chrysanthemum. Engraver may have lost a foot and couldn't count any higher than 15 (10 fingers and five toes.)
