belongs with these...from the same collection taken on the Shuri Castle Line, as the lore goes.

You are asking a bit too much. Collectors who help with certain characters or short strings of characters, are very helpful to the rest of us. You are asking for a document to be translated for you. Japanese speakers who visit here have their own lives to live and the translation would be quite an imposition on their time.

There are numerous people that you can contact to translate a document like this for a fee. I suggest doing a web search for help like this.

Here is a partial translation I received by email...

All your pictures are front side of post card, and there are address, name, senders add and name.
Actual contents of letter should be the other side.
Left side four kanji is Gunji Yuubin, which means Military post card.

Your 1st and last pic shows same senders name, Mr.Takeo Nakama.
1st pic letter for Mr (or Ms) Niizato. I can't read first name.
3rd pic letter is unfinished letter. Address only, no name.
Last pic letter is for Mr. Nakama. Same as sender's family name.
All letters' address are KIN-mura KUNIGAMI-gun OKINAWA prefecture.
This location still exists. The US Marines have a big camp (Camp Hansen) at this place.

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon!

Thank you. I have several of these all from the same original owner. I purposely didn't post pics of the reverse sides here. Thank you again.
BTW, translating a document usually means technical manuals. I have had much difficulty in finding someone that can read the handwritten letters...even when willing to pay for their time.

No problem, I don't normally ask for translations of personal letters, I'd asked Tsuki to look at something else, and he noticed this and replied later. I try to save my 'favors' for identifying military items. I sort of feel like personal correspondence is just that, personal. Trey
