A 7th series type 99 followed me home recently. It is all matching with a missing handguard. Due to the short rear sight, a standard handguard comes up short in the area where it mates with the rear band. Is there a special handguard made for only the 7th series?

You are correct, the 99 datasheet lists the 7th series handguard as being 4 1/2 from sight to rear band, and 12 1/2" from there to muzzle. I have not verified the measurements. Trey
