Hi
I had this identified as a Japanese Model 11 37mm anti-tank cannon scope.
I just want to confirm this ID and inquire as to current value.
It is an occupation bring back of my father.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum! Include photos of the kanji on the box and we should be able to get it accurately translated. Thanks for posting. Trey _________________ Subscribe to BANZAI!

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon! |

All I know is what I was told in my first post
So your saying it's not for the Model 11 37mm AT cannon?
What is the value on these things? |

Edokko reads Japanese as a native, and yes he is saying Type 1 for a T 1 47mm model.
I see these scopes sell for $300-500 plus or minus, nota as much demand as there is for the rifle scopes _________________ 03man |

That's very cool. The T-1 47mm gun was an ass kicker. here's one that's on display not to far from where I live.
Here's my Dad posing with one on Saipan - note how the barrel has been cut off

Dawgs, that's a nice phot of your dad with the Type 1 / 47mm mobile gun. But I think the optics was used on the 47mm gun installed on the Type 1 "Chi-He" tank. |

O well, for a tank? That's cooler yet! I've always been very interested in Japanese tanks. Neato! Now you just need to sell it to me! _________________ "A woman, a dog & and a walnut tree. The more ya beat em, the better they be" (From "The Red Bagde of Courage") |
