What is the serial # on your 35 ?

Edokko its 31714. It came out of Finland with bayonet and early (no rivets) frog about 5 years ago. Mum is untouched, and no Finnish markings, it likely never got issued in Finland. I don't think you could ever have too many Type 44s, They are all just a little bit different, the most interesting one has some Mukden replacement parts on it, including a modifed Mukden 38 carbine stock. Trey, all I can say is WOW on those 44s and the 35. It must have been heck bringing the 35 out of Finland !? My 35 is a Thai import serial #33060, it's also in nice condition but no 35 bayonet and also has the telltale Charka on the bridge.

Edokko, the 35 and bayonet were imported by a local collector through an importer in the midwest (I think) that charged a reasonably low flat rate fee.

Type-14, the nambus are in a safe place, waiting on display cases.

03man, its hard to pass up a pretty type 38. Their prices are still moderate, and until Frank's book gets 'digested' and rarity realized, likely to stay that way. I need a w3 (50th series marked) Mukden long and a Kokura 26th series. There are a few that could stand an upgrade, Nagoya 0 series in particular. Have a spare Jinsen 30th series or two I could trade for the missing ones. Trey

Trey those 38's are just gorgeous. They just put 99's to shame on fit and finish. I need your help when you get over here to see exactally what I have. It aint quanity, it quality and you got quality. roy

Roy, I quite agree. A T-38 will kick aside any 99 in pure "quality" anytime (except perhaps the metal finish on an early T-K 99 Long, which in my opinion is almost a non-military finish, and will hold up against any Weatherby finish). The design balance on the 38 rifle is also much more beautiful to behold.
But as a total balance of "niceness", I must say the T-44 is the best of them all. The perfection of the design, and add the quality of make and finish that comes from the 38 line, and man, the 44 just has the "right stuff" !
