HI guys I just found a Nagoya 6th series 99 short rifle that is in great condition but The cleaning rod hole is plugged about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch below the round hole in the stock. It appears to be wood. Did they not finish the hole (no cleaning rod) or use a very short rod or did some one plug the hole??
A second question, Is there any books or where can I find out, how each makers rifle should-be configured through out the series?
Thanks in advance for any info!

David, it would have had a short rod 4 7/8" (12.5 cm), that would have screwed in to the round metal plug. So it wouldn't have gone any further in to the stock. Don't let the absence of a cleaning rod keep you from buying the rifle, we can find one on ebay, it will just take a little patience and some cash. Trey _________________ Subscribe to BANZAI!

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon! |
