I had a local (Florida) sword collector and a well known Florida collector take a look at these swords. Both said that they are late war swords made by locals for the Japanese. These were supposedly made using readily avalable materials such as local wood and truck springs for the blade. Swords are unmarked. Sword pictured on top is much more refined and very sharp. Scabbard seemed to be string wrapped at one time like a late war bayonet scabbard. Lower sword is heavy and crudely made. It is sharp but has many blemishes and chips. Scabbard is some kind of local wood that is completely wrapped with cloth covered electrical wire.
$450.00 shipped for both
