Hello, New to the group and I recently aquired a Series 26 Type 38. However, I'm a little confused on the numbered parts of the rifle. The # on the bolt handle matches the last 3 digits of the serial #. However most all other parts match a 3 digit # that is stamped under the barrell. not the serial #. This # is stamped on the inside of the stock, the trigger, tangs, and bolt release. Is this correct, or signs of an arsenal rebuild with other parts interchanged with the rifle. The rifle cleaned up nice and the bore looks good. I'll try to get some pic's. Thanks for any help and this is a great site.

Pasadena, welcome to the forum. That is correct, its not a rework. The 26th series at Kokura matched that way, so you're good! Post pictures when you can. Be sure to fill out a Datasheet for Frank Allan when you get a chance. Trey _________________ Subscribe to BANZAI!

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon! |
