Can anyone help identify this? I found it in my deceased fathers belongings. Someone said that it is a WWII Japanese artillery fuse type 88, 89, or 0. I an just trying to properly identify it. It is stamped with a "CCP" on one side with a weird symbol and another weird symbol with an anchor on the other side.
Thanks!

The weird symbols are Japanese. I am not wise to the ways of ordnance, hopefully Type14 will be along and can fill us in...Trey _________________ Subscribe to BANZAI!

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon! |

It is either a Navy Type 91 mechanical time fuze or Type 0 Mechanical time fuze. The Type 0 is the same as the Type-91 except that it has a weaker set-back spring and has a flash shutter in the basal portion. Are there any traces of red paint on the nosepiece? If so than a Type 0 if not most likely a Type-91
Hope this was helpful. |
