I am in the process of restoring a Nagoya Type 99 Long Rifle that had been used as a lamp at one time in its life. Anyway, the buttplate that came on the rifle was drilled so that it could be fixed on a wood base for the lamp. I was able to purchase a new (used) stock and FOOLISHLY tossed the old buttplate on the assumption that one of my spare Type 99 Short buttplates would fit. Surely they could not be different? There was simply no reason that they should be different. BUT THEY ARE!

The Type 99 Long buttplate is bigger and a short rifle buttplate will not fit. Not even close!

Can anyone out there save me with a Type 99 Long Rifle buttplate?

Frank

Frank, I traded Rick Veal 5 or 6 - 99 Long rifles in various stages of disrepair several years ago, so there should be some out there. Trey

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon!

Fortuneately, Steve Schaefer, from whom I purchased the replacement stock, still had that puttplate. I am on my way there now to pick it up.

The collecting gods are smiling on me after all!
