Got some pictures of this nice 2,025,000 range Type 38 (kanji on stock in photo). Very nice rifle! I'm going through a 2,000,000 / 20th series phase lately, just can't seem to get enough of them...Some really interesting receiver markings to be standard production guns.

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon!

I see the number 4 on the stock but what is the ohter mark? Is this a rack number? Also, great way to display your latest phase Smile

Dale, thanks very much for the compliment! I think its the kanji for 'special' like you see on late Jinsen Type 99s. No idea of the significance of it.
It is very late for the 2,000,000 range and in the area of overlap of serial numbers for Tokyo and Nagoya.
From the "Type 38 Arisaka" by Allan and Macy, the high for the initial rifles (no series mark) from Tokyo are reported to 2028270. The initial series rifles from Nagoya are reported as 002025720 to 2031433, which also appears to overlap initial Kokura 20th series production if the reported numbers are taken and viewed literally as 00 (20)29519 through (20)49433. Anyone else got something similar? Trey
