The brand translates "Ohara Axe Factory."

Archj, a belated welcome to the forum, you've got some great toys so far....Please post some pictures of the receiver of your Type 38 trainer. If its a true training rifle please download and fill out a Japanese Training Rifle Datasheet for Seinen, if its a true Type 38 just with school markings please fill out a Type 38 Rifle Datasheet for Frank.

the rifle is a tranier sn# 62 smooth bore and barrel is alloy metal and screws out . attached is receiver mark. thanks for your quick responces I am a life long collector started at 11yrs mail order I am 58 now . have over 400 military WW1 and WW2 firearms[img][/img][img][/img][/list]

Right. I see the logo you posted. This maker is one of several I've yet to identify. Sorry about that.
