|
|
Below is a T14 with clear plexiglass grips with inserts between the metal backs of the grips
and clear portion of the grips. I have a bayonet as well with similar grips and a very faded
photo of nude oriental woman. Any others out there?
J Hawk kindly translated the grip markings as "The Minister of the Army" on Gunboards.
I don't attach any special value to the grips other than the novelty of them and the picture.
While I have heard several 'stories' about grips like this on bayonets and rifles being available
for purchase by Japanese soldiers, I have not seen definitive proof that this was the case.
I paid a 'shooter' price for this gun so provenance is not an issue for me.
As is the case with all interesting weapons with modifications:
Let the Buyer Beware!
My intention is to locate a war-era Japanese Nudie magazine, scan a few of the photos,
resize them appropriately and use them for a 'changing' nambu/bayonet display in my
gunroom (out of view of children of course). _________________ Subscribe to BANZAI!

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon! |
