Looking back over some of the collection and noticed that this didn't look right. The series mark is turned sideways.
I compared it another receiver that I have
Guess series marks were hand stamped. _________________ Curtis

I've seen a number of these. Funny thing is, if they are rotated out of their normal place, it's always to the left, never to the right. I have or had one that was 45 degrees out of position rather than the usual 90 _________________ "A woman, a dog & and a walnut tree. I haven't seen a lot of improperly oriented series marks. I've probably seen more double stamps. A few missing series marks, arsenal marks, and such. All sorts of interesting 'little nothings'....Trey _________________ Subscribe to BANZAI!

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon! |

I have encountered a few poor stamps and many double strikes, but this is the first I've seen with this type of error. Thanks for posting the photos.
