During some straightening up and rearranging, I saw this, I like these 'little nothings' that pop up from time to time...
2096 is matching, staked, ground, broken off bamboo cleaning rod but all other goodies still in the cosmoline.
52096 is matching, staked, mummed
Incidentally, I have a dust cover just sitting out, when I picked it up to see what the number was, it was 096....for a Type 38....Oh well....

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon! |

Nice looking pair.
Was the sling on the lower rifle when you obtained it?

Frank, yes it was, as well as the plastic muzzle cover, and tag with kanji, it really had 'all' the goodies.... _________________ Subscribe to BANZAI!

I forwarded your tag photos to Takehito and he provided a quick translation as follows: It’s a name tag of the owner Matsuhashi Hisashi (柗橋 久). The Kanji for Matsu is a very unusual pattern Kanji, seldom used.

Frank, my thanks to you and Takehito. I figured it was too trivial to bother Takehito with. Thanks again. Trey _________________ Subscribe to BANZAI!
