Several of us have begun some research to expand our understanding of both the Type 99s modified at the Mukden (Shenyang/Hoten) arsenal to fire the 7.92mm Mauser round and also those manufactured there which were designed from the beginning to use this cartridge.

Attached is a jpeg copy of a simple data sheet devolped to help ID these rifles. If anyone has one of these Chinese rifles please complete a data sheet or send me an e-mail with the details. (Adobe and MSWord formats for this data sheet are also availalbe.)
