Dear Editor: The Tuscaloosa County High School Memorial Committee is attempting to find the original plaque from the War Memorial that stood in front of the old County High School since the late 1940s. If found, the plaque would be placed at the new County High Memorial site for all to enjoy and remember those veterans who sacrificed for our freedom.
According to records, the plaque reads as follows: “To Honor the Men of County High Who Made the Supreme Sacrifice in World War II.”
If anyone knows where the plaque is, please return it to Principal Nancy Terry at Echols Middle School. No questions will be asked.
Chuck Gerdau
Chair, TCHS Memorial Committee

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon! |
