The 2013 SEMCA (South Eastern Military Collectors Association) is in the books. It was held last weekend in the rice paddies of Cleveland MS. Our thanks to our gracious hosts, Mr. & Mrs. Riceone and family. With a big Thank you to Mrs. not-so-Olde-One-and-much-better-looking! Thanks Ruth! Ole sparkly boots himself showed up, with some like minded Luger guy, and a couple Nambu guys thrown in for flavor. Its a shame, when JurassicMan, my Dad, and yours truly are the most normal people there....
Seriously though, lots of nice people, with some really wonderful toys on display. Japanese carbines, ropeholes, trainers, Nambus, a bunch of smoke poles, and other oddities were heavy in abundance. Some enfields, bayonets, a navy luger, a luger carbine, treaty of versailles broom handle were there just to name a few. If you didn't make it this year, try again next year. Don't forget the Blevin's shoot is just around the corner. Hope to see you there. Here are some photos from the gala...
Trenchy's Toys..

The Veterinarian's goodies...

Oopie38's wares...

Yours truly's...

Grayman's ropeholes...

Type14's haul...

BattaNoKami's Enfields...

Some of the visitors, including ole sparkly boots hisself, pssst: He ain't from around here...

For whatever reason (probably had to go to the bathroom and forgot) I didn't get the rest of the room, being in close 'poximity' to Jurassic Man does have an adverse effect on you, not sure if its his gravitational pull, or his blinding ambivalence, I'll leave that one up to you. If you just rat hole your collection and don't get out, you really don't know what you are missing. You should try it some time.

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon!
