Guess the significance of this Arisaka...
Very early Kokura 2nd series Type 38 Carbine. I happen to have a very late Tokyo Type 38 Carbine. I'll try and get some pictures of it to compare to. _________________ Subscribe to BANZAI!

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon!

Very cool. Made by Kokura from parts transferred from the Tokyo Army Arsenal. Very low number.
The current low number reported is 9901. The high for a TAA-manufactured T-38 carbine is still 209066. Thus, there is now only 835 serial numbers separating the production runs.
I'd love to get detailed photos of a very late TAA carbine and an early Kokura carbine and compare the inspection marks. Might prove very interesting indeed.
Thanks for posting these.

Hummm..... I don't see it and don't have that number recorded. Maybe you could just send me the details. Especially the final inspection stamps if you can read them.
