I just purchased ( very reasonable) an Arisaka Type-99 barrel/receiver w/mum in great condition.
Someone with much more experience than I identified it as a Kokura 22nd series Type-99, and sent me in the right direction as far as building a correct rifle around it. Voigt's book doesn't have a vast amount of information on this series, and all I know is that it's an "all early configuration".
What I'm look for on this forum is advice on building a rifle around what I'd bought, and sources for particular parts.
I also have a complete Kokura 24th series rifle, which was my first foray into collecting these, so I'm relatively new at this.

Welcome to the forum, you're going to need a lot of parts!
I would only rebuild if you enjoy hunting down the parts, as restoring/rebuilding piece by piece will get pricey. Your best bet would probably be to find a complete mismatched 22nd series, and rebuild yours from it.
