I am going to look at a Japanese rifle that was made by BRNO prior to WWII. What cal. are these supposed to be? I've never seen one of these and have no idea what it is supposed to look like.

Unless I'm mistaken, I'd guess its going to be a Czech VZ-24, it sort of resembles a 98K. The receiver markings are below, my lighting is not good enough for a good shot of the rifle. Should be 7.92 Mauser (8mm).
Top two are left side of receiver, bottom is the Date on the Chamber.
A number of 1937 chamber dated VZ-24s from the P-serial number prefix series made their way into Japanese and Chinese hands. I'm not up on them much, maybe someone else can clarify. Trey |

Thanks Trey. This was the first that I had heard of the Japanese buying from BRNO and in 7.92 no less. At least I'll have an idea of just what I'm looking at.
