My first post on your forum, decided to try something else, the "Joshboy" posts on gunboards got tiresome.

Just received the above rifle, condition is remarkable- perfect bore, 95% blue, matching, rod, wood excellent, even has the front sight guard.

As stated it is a C series serial 49194 and matches all the characteristics of Greg Babich's description of a Japanese used C series in his Banzai article, it is also only 9,000 off of his reported serial number.

I am attaching 2 photos of the butt stock (my camera and program are having difficulties other wise I would post more) My question is do these markings resemble Chinese or Japanese rack numbers. They appear to be done in Khaki green paint, I am used to the Japanese white rack numbers.

Need some knowledgable opinions

Thanks
Will

Here's one of the pictures, not sure why it wouldn't display within your post. If you'll try the kanji again, we'll get it figured out. When posting pictures all you have to do is click on 'Add image to post' and point it to your file, you don't have to do anything to the urls returned from postimage once the picture is uploaded. Its always a good idea to use lower case letters and numbers in your file names with no spaces or special characters. Trey

Here are Will's pictures. I can't tell much from the markings. So there's not much I can contribute.

Will, you have to allow BBcode in your profile for the pictures to display. I updated your profile. Try another post and lets see if your pictures will display now. Trey
