What's up with this? Real or post war production? Looks like the same type of helmet in Osprey's JSNLF book, page 14.

That's a civilian defense helmet that "someone" has added a repro navy insignia post war! I'm surprised & saddened that some uneducated people will be paying a stupid price for a bad helmet.

Thanks Jareth, shows what I know, (I removed my uninformed ok to cut down on confusion and updated the topic). You might consider capturing those pictures for an article in BANZAI and point out how to ID it as bogus. We'd all be the better for it. Let me know what you think. Trey
