This turned up at the TMCA show, this makes 3 extremely rare Japanese rifles in three years that have turned up at this show (Love of Country Type 38, Mukden 45th series Type 99, Type 918 Rifle).

The Type 918, characters on the receiver are 9 1 8 Type (top to bottom):

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon!

Trey , I bought one of these type 918 rifles way back when, didn't know what it was till recently. I guess mine has been Chinese modified, serial # 845. The heart stamp on mine looks larger than the one in the pic. It also has a large Chinese star stamp on the left side of the one piece stock, it is also matching if I remember . This is great stuff!!!!

Bill B, that's good to know. Glad you found one, I don't have one of these 918s but do have a Type 45. I've seen the Type 45s in two configurations, one mostly mauser features, and the other with mostly Arisaka features, interesting guns, just wish more were known about them. I took a bunch of pictures, but very few came out well, and so it goes. Trey
