Normal show this past weekend in that a large crowd but little to no Japanese items at all. That is of course after another collector and I bought the only two Japanese items in the show. He picked up a very, very nice Nagoya 6th series in near mint condition with full mum. Down side is that the bolt assembly doesn't match. As for myself I picked up a Howa Jyuko 9th series (corrected as pointed out by Trey). As you can tell by the photos it is a bit rough in spots but over all not too bad. Mum is ground and bolt assembly doesn't match but considering some of the stuff I've seen lately not to bad over all. Photo attached for your viewing pleasure. And yes Trey data sheets are in work.

Dale, that's a Howa Jyuko, 9th series, looks to be in very nice condition! Serial numbering for the 9th series at Howa Jyuko started at 50,000 and highest number reported is 81173. Looking forward to the datasheet. Did the 6th and the 9th come from the same person? If they did, you may want to see if the bolts got swapped at some point. I've found 2 like that in the past. I lightened up the pics a bit. Very nice looking rifle! Trey

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon! |

I have a 9th series Izawa Juno in almost new condition.
The last time I fired it I shot a 1/2 inch group at 100 yards (3 shots).
These are vastly underrated shooters. |

Trey, Thanks for keeping me squared away and now that you point it out I see were I made my mistake in the identificaiton of it. See what happens when I move away from my Nambus. Different sellers but I checked that angle anyway and no joy.
Smokey, how's the trigger pull on yours? I haven't taken it to the range yet but it feels like it has a trigger pull of about 25lbs. |
