I just bought a T-14, 18.11 date. The magazine # matches the pistol. This is my first T-14, so I could use some help into understanding what to look for and where, as to the originality of parts etc. I do not have the Derby/Brown book.
Any one have a deal on an original holster?

Chuck, your pistol would be 18 (1943 = 1925 + 18 ) 11 (November). As far as I can tell, all numbered parts should match the last three digits of the serial number. Looks like there are a few different arsenals with 18.11 dates, so you need to tell us exactly arsenal/series/serial, or just post a good picture of the right side of the pistol. Trey

Thanx Trey. It's a Nagoya, series one, number 17966. It does not have a serial number on the grips, is that normal? The grips look old and fragile. The magazine, whick matches the pistol serial number also has an inspection mark beneath it, this is the same as the TKJ3 mark on the T-99 Data Sheet. What is that symbol called?
Is there an on-line disassembly guide. I want to take it apart and clean everything, but, I am reluctant without knowing what I'm doing.

Chuck, Teri's Nambu World has a diassembly blurb from a US manual here. No need to 'drift' anything out or remove the safety, or anything else in the last paragraph for that matter. I'll have to check on whether or not the grips would be numbered. That mark is listed marking 17 on the nambu mag ID chart. I'll see if I can get a clear copy and post it. Trey

Thanx T-14. There is a SHA mark on the left rear side of the pistol grip frame that is the same size as the mark on the magazine, which is numbered to the pistol and without a proof mark above the number. The grip wood is un-numbered/proofed and is the 17 groove type. Could these grips be corrrect for this 18.11, series one pistol?
There are 3 symbols prior to the serial number on the upper frame.

Thanks for updating the frame markings. The three symbols means Nagoya Nambu 1st series. Yes, that series should have the 17 grooved grips. This arsenal did not stamp the last three or four digits of the serial number on the grips, however they may be there in pencil but it is hard to see some times. You should be able to see an inspector stamp on the grips. And now that we have the correct arsenal that tells us the SHA mark is the correct mark for the mag and those marks match up to the grip frame so about all I can add is congrats on having an all matching Type-14. I hope you enjoy it but beware the collecting of things Nambu is very habit forming.
