Yardbird posted a wanted T-35 bolt ad so of course I had to ask for pictures. Here is the carbine he mentioned.
If I had to guess, I'd say post war conversion with an eye towards carbine
configuration. I've been wrong more than once though. This is at the upper end of 35 Long Rifle production. Any others out there? Trey

Looks like a 38 carbine barrel in a 35 receiver. Modified 35 stock.
what's that oval sling swivel doing on the T38 carbine in the middle?
I'll trade a 'real' 38 carbine swivel for it! _________________ 03man |

I have an extra 35 bolt if he will contact me. Hate to waste it though on a basteridized rifle when someone may need a bolt to restore the real thing. |

Looks like he has a bolt??
Why does he need another?
I still think it is a 38 carbine barrel and front band. _________________ 03man |

Appears that the SN may have been monkeyed with, or is that just my old eyes? The number is about 3K above the highest SN reported. It could possibly be a Japanese piece, but put together after the 38 carbine was introduced. The front band pictured was not used on a 30 carbine or long rifle or on a 35. It is unique to the 38 carbine. This dates the piece as post 1906. (thought there was a date for the 38 carbine introduction?)
At any event, while interesting it is a bastardized piece and would only fit in the sporterized/oddity section of a collection. |

This really has nothing to do with the carbine or missing bolt. My question concerns the box you have them sitting on for taking the photo, is that how you transport him to shows and such? |

Ronin,
MROJ shows 36659 as high serial number, so this one is below that.
I agree that this is likely a 38 carbine barreled, modified rifle stock, modified T35 rifle. _________________ 03man |

Do you still have the bolt for a type 35. I need one the rifle my grandfather gave me. Bolt is missing in mine. |
