I've posted this thread on GunBoards put know not every one reads it so I'm posting it here as well in hopes of getting an inform answer.
There is some old 8mm ammo floating around (mainly in the collector market) that was made up I believe in the 60’s (as much of the lot numbers on the resized brass is from the mid 60’s). Who did this is unknown to me or to any one else I’ve talked to about. The ammo is made from old Midway brass and resized 30 cal. I was given the box you see in the photos from a guy who shot it up at last May’s shoot out at Bobby Blevins place. As you see it functioned just like it says on the box (expand and split), but does function OK as I was with the gent when he shot it. Also, the bullets are lead.
I do love how they call it the Japanese Luger type pistols.
Does anyone know who manufactored this stuff up? It seems that a good amount of it was made up as I run across a box of it from time to time.
