There has been an email circulating,

suggesting that you send extra cards and letters this holiday season to a Wounded or Recovering American Soldier, while it is a wonderful idea, due to the possibility that some may not contain "thanks, and well wishes for a speedy recovery," the post office and Walter Reed Army Medical Center (official statement here) will not accept or deliver mail or packages addressed anonymously in such a fashion. They are asking instead that you make a donation to one of the more than 300 nonprofit organizations dedicated to helping our troops and their families listed on the "America Supports You" website, you can browse How you can help or view organizations by state.
Other organizations to consider that offer means of showing your support for our troops or to assist wounded servicemembers and their families include:
USO Cares
To Our Soldiers
Red Cross

The Walter Reed Army Medical Center is ONLY accepting phone cards, CDs, individual small packets of candy, things like that; which they will distribute among the soldiers (as they have a lot of in and out patients). They are not accepting Holiday Cards, as they don't have the human resources to distribute them.
