Okay I got my brass, dies, and bullets in the mail today and I'm ready to start punching these out. I didn't want to run to town for powder and found I have an unopened can of reloader 15. I was wondering if anyone had any recipies for rl15. I was figuring on 35 grams of to start but I really don't want to experiment. I figured this may be a good powder for a carbine as I need a fast burn. I've got some 95 grain vmax bullets. |

No I dont have a rl-15 load for the 6.5x50 , I assume you mean a 35 grain load, I dont think 35 grams will fit if it did you wouldnt survive the experiment,I fear,1 gram = 15.432 grain or a 540 grain load.loads I know work with the 95 gr bullets are stuff like 36-39 gr of H-335,31-38 of I-4064, 32-39 of I 4320 ..etc (gr meaning grains not grams).sorry, jusT being rotten. |

My bad it was late. I loaded 39 grains of RL15. Nearly a compacted load. Same burn rate as H380. Loaded up 100 last night so we'll see how she shoots hopefully this weekend. Should be pushing that 95gr bullet around 3000 fps. Probably overkill for a carbine as I'm sure some of that powder will turn into flames at the end of the barrel. I found this in my research. If your working on a recepie and they don't list your favorite powder just find it on the chart and match the burn rate to something else listed.
