The tang "mei" reads Chikuzen-ju Minamoto-no Nobukuni Yoshimasa and is a good smith. Too bad the sword is in such crappy shape with the bullet ding and beyond any restoration possibility.

Yes, if it was a real Yoshimasa, he was from the Kanbun period so his work would have been around the 1670's. However, on examining the signature characteristics, I believe this is a gimei (fake sign) so the sword would have come from anywhere between that time to perhaps upto early 1800's. Unfortunately, the bullet ding destroys all artistic value of the sword but does add historical character to it.
