im trying to repair my cut up arisaka stock and i need measurements from the back of the front sight to the end of the wood stock. so the bayonet will fit back on the stock,also i need to know the correct color of the stock so i can blend the repair of the stock to the other piece. when i took the stock apart it looked like a dark reddish color .

I measure the distance from the rear band groove, to the tip of the stock, 13" with an additional 1/16" worth of nose cap for the front band to fit over and around. So 13 1/16". Trey
