Just purchased a nice quality leather sling repo for my early type 99. However No instructions were provided. Odd buckle arrangement.
I am assuming the rough leather goes to inside. The end with the buckle goes through the rear barrel band with the buckle facing to the outside when fastened to the one hole provided. The metal sliding adjustment goes down near the rear sling swivel.
Adjust the length just loose enough to allow the weapon to hang over your right shoulder when carrying.
The weight distribution with a side sling is very comfortable. Not use to this after shouldering U.S. issue.
Am I close ? |

That sounds right, but I 'hear' about as well as I 'see', so take a look at the Japanese Slings Page for more info. Trey _________________ Subscribe to BANZAI!

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon! |
