Anyone have knowledge of WWII portable Japanese blasters? It has the pull cord and is in complete working order. These were used to detonate TNT for use in demolition.
I can forward photos if you have information on these devices (I cannot get the photos to print on this site – my problem I am sure). I tried Banzai, but had no responses.
If you can help, please let me know.
Thanks! |

here are some pictures from a 2006 post, Japanese Demolition Detonator forgive my memory, is this the same one? Trey
Here's an interesting little 'jobber' submitted by Mario:
Quote: | My friend believes this was used in WWII and the date is correct to support
this assumption. It is a Japanese blaster used to set off explosive charges.
The photos show the complete unit. It is in excellent condition and appears
to be a nickel plate over brass. The cord is simply pulled, like a lawn
mower and then - bang!....My friend states that this unit actually works (he is an
instructor on explosive devices for various governmental agencies). The cord
and every part is original. Please let me know if any info comes to light.

Quote: | Steve Hayama has translated the plate as:
93SHIKI DENKI TENKAKI Type93 Electric Spark device
BANGOU 1907 Number 1907
KYO SEIZO 13NEN 2GATSU Tokyo Manf. 1938 Feb.
KOKUSAN DENKI KABUSHIKI KAISHA
Domestic Electric Corporation
Included is a photo of a crimper that he also believes to be WWII Japanese
(no markings). |
Can anyone else shed some more light on this nifty little 'door stop'? _________________ Subscribe to BANZAI!

Yes Trey, this is the same one. I am still attempting to gather information on this device. I thought that some knowledgeable members may have come along that might have information on this blaster.
Well? Anyone? |

FYI, Your email address has changed or is invalid, the notifications to you when updates are made to this post are 'bouncing'. Same with Jareth's email address.
