Photos first. Ok here we go. This is a Tokyo Juki Kogyo (TJK) under Nagoya supervision, substitute rope hole. As you can see the front sight and bolt release are both missing and from what I can tell where never installed. There are no numbers on any of the parts except for the assembly number of 731. The inspection mark (clover leaf) appears on the bottom of the receiver, barrel step, inside the trigger guard near the front mounting screw, inside the stock (both lower half’s) and on the right rear bolt rail of the receiver. The mum is fully intact. The only other inspection mark I can find is on one of the trigger guard screws and that is the "re" mark. It has the two piece stock however there is a small wooden wedge placed between the two pieces (under the rear barrel band) to keep them from rattling around. There you have it and enjoy the photos.

That looks like a very interesting rifle. I will be waiting on the write up. |

Very nice rifle and great find! To the best of my knowledge, these are probably the rarest un-numbered rifles. The un-numbered, un-assembled rope hole 27th series. No evidence of ever having bolt release or front sight. Here's another, it has had an additional hole drilled for the addition of a single-screw rear swivel (in violation of current production standards someone thoughtlessly put a 3rd nail in the buttplate that ended up obstructing the ropehole), apparently the rear band was milled and fitted to accept a swivel as a result. As far as I can tell the un-numbered 27th is the most common un-numbered rifle, but, the un-numbered/un completely assembled is likely the rarest of them all.
Sorry about the quality of the pictures, even with the tripod-my 3 year old was helping, piggy-back rides and talking to Daddy while Daddy is taking pictures and talking on the phone seems to be all the rage these days..... _________________ Subscribe to BANZAI!

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon! |

We have to get these two together to get some decent photos of the two. Never seen one until yesterday and now two of them. |

That is one of the rifles that I don't have. I have read about them but never seen one before . Those are interesting. |

If I make over you way before too long I'll have to drag this one along as well. Great seeing you at the show yesterday. Gald to see you made home safe and sound. |
