M-99 Light Machine Gun Scope?

I found the scope in these pictures among the stuff my Dad brought back from the Pacific during WWII. I believe it's from an M-99 light machine gun based on the 40 markings to the left/right of the center gauge, but would like confirmation. I'd also love some help figuring out how much this scope is worth. It is a 2.5x13" scope, with a star emblem with a circle and a dot inside the star (I haven't been able to locate this symbol on the lists of arsenals that produced regular rifles).

Dan, Welcome to the forum! I think its for the 99 and made by Tokyo Arsenal. No idea on value. $250-$400 if no accessories, I'd guess. But don't quote me on that. I don't have a need for one, so don't follow the values. Trey.
