Picked this up last month. I already had two of these, but this one is in far better condition. Less than 10K of these were produced & may be as low as around 6.5K. The darn thing cost me more than one months rent, but I had to have it. I just sold the one I have that is "school" marked like this one. My other one has an untouched & uncancelled mum. Here's some photos of the new arrival.
Oh yeah, it has fully matching parts including the dust cover!
The stock marks are interesting. It has the "NA" and "Chi" mark in the proper places, but there is a larger "NA" mark next to the "Chi" mark.

Rob, that's a nice rifle, I bought one a little earlier on one of the auction sites, I knew the stock was bad, but didn't realize how bad, but the price sure was right. Thanks for posting. Trey _________________ Subscribe to BANZAI!

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon! |

The one I just sold (pending funds) has a stock that looks like it was wire brushed & the bands look like they were"brightened". All this looks to have been done long ago. Makes me wonder - when I was in Navy boot camp we would brighten the '03s we carried with wire brushes! Wonder if the students using some of these rifles did the same thing? |

Rob, I think the Japanese would be too afraid of repercussions to modify their equipment other than sharpening edged weapons and cleaning. Most likely rifles were picked up at the same time by same US unit and they got bored. That's what makes this so interesting. My bands are bad, and the remaining blue on the metal has a real mottled look to it. Trey _________________ Subscribe to BANZAI!
