As usual, something has to appear in the 'wee hours' at the shootout that really exemplifies the phrase 'a fool and his money are soon parted'.

The tag indicates the prop is from a downed zero, it is attached to the original 'shipping label' with staples, apparently at a later date.. There is residue of red paint or primer, no marks found as yet, very crudely 'hack sawed' off. Pretty heavy, and pretty neat, measurements later.

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon!

That's a great item, It sure is something you dont see everyday, I beleive if it was priced right I would have gotten it to. That is a very unusual and very good find. It should display well with Japanese aviation items.

Thanks for the comments, I'm in to collectibles that are sort of outside the norm, and this goes a little above and beyond, I have the common stuff: a flight suit, a parachute with the lines cut, and a few other things to go with it, should make a nice enough gunroom and 1 table display at shows. I cringe at what the other accessories that go with the flight suit will cost though. Its not something you see every day, that's for sure. If I had to guess, I'd say it was less than $4 a pound. I've seen lots of people pay lots more for 'modern art' that isn't as appealing and doesn't have near the history this does. So my Dad and I are pleased. Guess I shouldn't have scoffed at all the 'meatballs' on pieces of fuselage we've turned down over the years, think I was offered one for $250 a few years ago, I'd have just been buying it too soon. Trey
