Hello all, I'm new to Japanese militara collecting, I was wondering about the lack of info. on the type 26 revolver. Is there a place dedicated to that type of gun? Found lots of info. for type 14, 94, baby, papa and Gr. papas. Are they that unpopular, ie. not many of them, ammo scarse and expensive. Any information on value and shootability would be wonderful. I'm looking at a type 26, I've never seen one before. Thanks SKG.

Best web site just for Nambu pistols is http://members.shaw.ca/tju/jhg.htm

You will find info on the not only the Type-26 but the others as well. Teri has info on shooting the Type-26 as well as reloading for them as well.

So tell us about your Type-26! Better yet post photos.

Thanks for the response. I don't have it in my hands, its on layaway but it is in good shape, bore, cylinder and frame is clear of rust and marks are well defined. It's mostly grey metal with some patenia on the grips with a small chip in the wood. Mechanically it seems to lock up well and has minimal end shake when the trigger it pulled. The fireing pin has nice protrusion (no at rest hammer block) and is not blunted. Frame Lock is tight when closed. I thought it was a French 8mm at first, never saw one before the price I hope was reasonable..$275.00 put it on layaway. I'll post pics, any other information would be great. Thanks SKG. P.S. SN 172xx if a date of mfr could be of passed on.
