For many years, about the only available commercial ammo for the 7.7 Japanese rifle was norma. Apparently someone else was producing some, I found this on ebay last week, it has the old telephone # exchange that went out in the mid-60's in my area.

Anyone have any information on 'Parkinson Custom Loaded Ammunition'
8?2 McKinley Ave Boise Idaho, Phone 7225-W? Some spare cartridges or a full box of the same that I could buy?

Of interest is the Caution label on the back that mentions that 'black lacquer' on the head of a cartridge case loaded by 'Parkinson' indicates that the case has been reformed from another caliber and to disregard the original caliber stamping. It also mentions the 'very strong', 'forged steel Arisaka action' and the dangers of the 'cast steel' action found on training rifles. It goes on to identify the difference between the two as the 'forged steel actions' having a 'two-piece top tang-tail' while the 'cast steel actions have a solid extension of the receiver.

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon!

Sorry, I'm no help at all. I just thought I'd say that was another cool item!

Trey, that box is very cool. Who ever came up with the caution message contents had a very good insight the Arisakas.
