For anyone following the Japanese grenade parts coming out of China, there is a part that has been misidentified as a Type 91 or Type 10 "grenade booster cover". After looking at some old Japanese grenade schematics, it came to my attention that it wasn't a booster cover at all. It is a booster for a blank grenade or parachute flare. Attached is a picture of a blank grenade reproduce from the original drawings. I will try to do a parachute flare when I get a copy the schematics. the reason that the booster is the only thing ever being sold on Ebay, is because these grenades are made of wood and cardboard. Just the brass booster survived being burried.
