I just finihed by Arisaka gun rack.. It was a tight fit to get them all on. I had to open up all the receivers to make room..Will that be a problem?? Thanks Roy

No, most all of mine store with the bolts open.

Why would you think it a problem?

I am about to put up my racks and I have space problems also. I appreciate the look see. If I open the bolts they will fit much better. Thanks for your idea. As I recall our Crime Lab's reference collection in Alaska the racks were set up with the bolts open too. Should not be a problem.

Frank

I prefer to leave the bolts open, I can tell at a glance if there is something in the chamber, plus I like to have the rifles on the wall, arsenal/serial side out. Nice set up you have going! Trey

I didn't pay to much for that old Arisaka, I just bought it a little bit too soon!

If you store'em vertical, open is the way to go. Personally I like my bolts closed. easier to keep clean(dust). But I store my rifles the classic horizontal fashion on the wall.

Yeah, I used to store mine vertically but grew tired of looking at the bottom of the rifles. It's not as 'space efficient' but I like peg board.

Iagree..I too like the Peg board, but I just ran out of room and as you get older it is to hard to get them off the wall. I even have some 3 to the peg yet, but will change all that soon..

Yep, those top & bottom rifles can be hard on an older fella (like me). I'm surprised that board will hold three! I have mine supported with 2X4s and I don't think I'd want to try that. Especially here, where we may have a quake at any moment.
